Rosemary and Garlic Rubbed Steak with a Yogurt-Horseradish Rosemary Sauce

I realized when I got home from the grocery store the other night, I got WAY too much rosemary, so naturally I decided to put rosemary on everything!!  This meal was out of this world!!  I'll put the recipe for rosemary potatoes in a different post, so in today's blog post, you get a recipe for rosemary and garlic rubbed steak AND a greek yogurt horseradish rosemary cream sauce.

Here's a fun story (total sarcasm).  I take my food VERY seriously.  I love food.  I plan my meals according to my workouts, and when I've got a pre and post workout meal planned, I eat every last bite.  I had a beautiful plate of heated steak topped with horseradish and a side of rosemary potatoes all ready for my pre-workout meal.  As I put it on the counter, I had to take a step away for a few minutes while I attended to my son.  I come back into the kitchen and there is horseradish sauce ALL OVER THE FLOOR and then I realize my entire 6 ounces steak is gone!!  Who was the burglar?  My brother's dog!!  She ate my entire steak.  My pre-workout meal.  I stood there speechless for a few seconds looking at my plate and looking back at the dog as rage filled up inside me.  This dog ate my food!  She is such a sweet dog, but there is no rage like a hungry girl whose dog just ate her pre-workout meal.  Ugh!  So rude!!  So anyways, back to this amazing meal that you should make for your next dinner...

Rosemary and Garlic Rubbed Steak

Ingredients

6 steaks (I used a cheap cut)

For the marinade:

2 cups red cooking wine

2/3 cup soy sauce

For the rub:

1 1/2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

4 Tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

3 teaspoons sea salt

6 garlic cloves

Method:

To make the marinade, mix together red wine and soy sauce.  To use the marinade, pour over steaks in a resealable plastic bag.  Refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

Once steaks are done marinating, heat grill to high heat.  Mix together rosemary, garlic, and salt in a small bowl.  Brush steaks with the olive oil.  Sprinkle steaks with rosemary rub and coat evenly.

Grill steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium cooked steaks, or until desired temperature.  Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

While the steaks are cooking, whip up the horseradish sauce.

Greek Yogurt-Horseradish Rosemary Cream Sauce

1.5 ounce jar prepared horseradish

2 Tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Sea salt, to taste

Method

Mix all ingredients in a bowl.

I topped off my steak with a couple heaping tablespoons of this delicious sauce.  With a side or roasted potatoes, it was the PERFECT meal!!!  Oh so good!!
