God's Promises, Day 2: "You Will Seek Me and Find Me"
/One of the most popular verses in the Bible is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." It's a great verse! Full of encouragement and hope. But what I love even more is what comes directly after that verse.
"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:12-13
How encouraging it is to know that when we call on God, He hears us! How encouraging it is to know that when we seek Him, we WILL find Him. A connection with God is personal and unique. It is an individual process. But just like any relationship, it takes work, and you must be intentional with it. You must put forth the time and effort, and our relationship with Christ is no exception to that. In order to seek Him, we must faithfully pursue Him. And how do we seek Him? By spending time in prayer and in the Word of God. Being in the Word of God allows us to know Him better. It gives us the desire to honor Him by following His teachings. By spending time with Him in prayer, it allows us to talk directly to Jesus. You can rest assured knowing that when we talk to Jesus, He does hear us! He listens to our prayers. He will meet us right where we are. He wants nothing more than for us to pursue Him, and He promises to be there for us. One of the beautiful things about our relationship with Christ, is that He will never abandon us. We never have to worry about Him turning His back on us. No matter how many times we might stray from Him, He will take us back every time. His love truly is unconditional. Thats a pretty incredible relationship to have in your life, and certainly not one that I ever want to let go of.
