God's Promises, Day 5: "The Lord will fight for you"

Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."  This is what Moses told the Israelites when they were standing in front of the Red Sea with Pharaoh and his soldiers closing in on them.  At this point, God had already freed them from Pharaoh and had been leading them through the desert with a pillar of clouds during the day and pillar of fire at night.  As the Israelites stood in front of the Red Sea, they felt hopeless, wondering why God would bring them this far only to be handed back over to Pharaoh.  They had forgotten the previous battles that God had fought for them and could only see the problem at hand.  Of course it seemed like an impossible situation to be standing in front of a huge body of water with no way to cross it, but God was with them, and once again, he proved his faithfulness. He parted the Red Sea and the Israelites safely made it to the other side.

Are you currently in a situation that seems impossible?  And just like the Israelites, wondering why God has led you this far only to face defeat?  The problem at hand is not a sign that God is not in control.  Place your trust in Him and let it be an opportunity for God to show His glory in your life.  Don't forget the previous battles God has won for you before.  Do not let the problem you are facing steal your faith.  Remember God's faithfulness in your life, know that it was real, and believe that God is still working.  Believe that He will fight this battle for you.
