God's Promises: Day 10: He will make straight your paths
/"In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:6
I often think of the Bible as our blueprint for life. There are so many stories and examples that teach us what to do when we face similar situations. In a previous post, I had mentioned the story of the Israelites and their reaction when faced with the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptians closing in behind them. One thing that story teaches us is about faith, but more specifically to not lose faith during our trials. It prompts us to remember the way God has been faithful in our own lives. Just because we face what seems like a current impossible situation, does not mean that God is not currently there fighting for us.
The Bible teaches us how to stay strong when Satan is trying to tempt us, how to love our families, how to extend grace towards others. The list is endless. And just as we are taught anything in life, it is up to us to apply it.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." John 10:10
Satan comes into our lives to try and ruin the good that God has already done. He knows our weaknesses, but in Christ, we can find strength. When the road gets tough, when temptations come our way, we don't have to let Satan win. God has already won the battles for us. Believing that, we need to place our faith in Him. Blessings always follow obedience, as tough as it may seem, that is something that God has promised us. "In all your ways, acknowledge Him and he shall direct your paths." Submit to God, and let Him lead the way.
It takes a certain level of humility to set aside our own selfish desires, to admit that we don't have it all together, and choose to acknowledge that we need God to lead us. It's only up to us to make that decision and admit that we need help.
But even if we don't immediately take that step to let God lead us, He has not forgotten us. We can never travel too far from God's grace. He's always there waiting for us to take that step towards Him, and when we do, He WILL direct our paths.
